These Terms govern use of the Veldboek SA website and app. When you create a farm workspace or accept a paid plan, you agree to these Terms together with the Privacy Policy and Data Ownership statement. This private-pilot version is not a public paid-subscription agreement; the public version will identify the contracting service provider, contact address and payment details before sign-up is opened.
1. The service
Veldboek is farm-management software for recording and reviewing livestock, camps, grazing, health, production, costs, documents and related information. It is a decision-support tool. It does not replace veterinary, nutritional, financial, legal or professional advice, and farmers remain responsible for checking records and decisions.
2. Accounts and authority
You must use accurate information, keep sign-in access secure and give access only to people you authorise. You are responsible for activity under your farm workspace and for ensuring you have authority to upload and process all Customer Data.
3. Trial and plans
New farms may receive a trial period with full access. The current duration is shown before setup and in the farm workspace. No card is required during the trial. At the end of a trial, records remain available to view but new records may be restricted until an active plan is confirmed. Plans, inclusions and prices are shown in ZAR inside Veldboek before selection. Any VAT treatment will be stated on the relevant invoice.
4. Payments, renewal and cancellation
During the initial launch, plan selection may be activated only after a confirmed payment. When recurring billing is enabled, the payment page will show the payment provider, price, billing period, authorisation, renewal and cancellation process before you confirm. You may cancel according to the process shown in your subscription settings or payment confirmation. Nothing in these Terms removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
5. Customer Data and intellectual property
You retain ownership of Customer Data. Veldboek retains ownership of its software, designs, brand, documentation and underlying intellectual property. You grant Veldboek the limited processing permission described in the Data Ownership statement. You may not copy, reverse engineer, disrupt or misuse the platform, or use it to access another customer’s data.
6. Integrations and third-party information
Some functions use third-party services or imported data, such as mapping, weather, market reports, scales, BenguFarm exports and payment providers. Availability, accuracy and update timing of those services are outside Veldboek’s control. Market prices and rankings should be checked against their source and your own records before decisions are made.
7. Availability, support and changes
We aim to keep Veldboek available and to improve it continuously, but we do not promise uninterrupted service or a service-level agreement unless one is separately agreed in writing. We may update functions, security measures and these Terms. We will give reasonable notice of material changes where practical.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend access where necessary to protect the service, comply with law, address non-payment, investigate misuse or protect other customers. You may stop using the service at any time. Ask for an export before closure and review the Privacy Policy for retention and deletion requests.
9. Liability and disputes
To the extent permitted by South African law, Veldboek is not liable for losses caused by inaccurate source data, missed records, farmer decisions, third-party services or circumstances outside reasonable control. These Terms are governed by South African law. Please contact us first through the Veldboek contact form so we can try to resolve a concern fairly.
